Who we are
Global Canopy collects, uses and is responsible for certain personal information about you. When we do so we are regulated under the Data Protection Act 1998 as amended and updated from time to time (DPA) and, with effect from 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which applies across the European Union (including in the United Kingdom) and we are responsible as ‘controller’ of that personal information for the purposes of those laws.
The personal information we collect and how we use it
We gather two types of information from you:
- Information your web browser gives us, such as your computer's IP address, your screen resolution and your geographic location. We also monitor your use of the website by seeing which pages you visit and how long you spend on them. We send this information to Google's "Google Analytics" service so that we can measure how effectively our website is at giving you the information you're after.
- Information you actively give us, which includes feedback on our website content or messages you send us. We use this information to deal with your request and never share this information with anyone outside of our business.
What we do with the information your computer gives us
When someone visits financingsustainablelandscapes.org we collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. We collect this information in a way which does not identify anyone beyond any association stated in this policy.
We will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personally identifying information from any source. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this and ask you. How long your personal data will be kept
For visitors to our website, we will generally keep your data for a period of 3 years, after which time it will be deleted from our systems if it is no longer required for the lawful purpose for which it is obtained.

Keeping your personal information secure
